Ze first of many

Tue Jul 28, 2009, 3:07 PM
So yes, this first journal entry is the commemoration of... my first journal entry! I take extreme pleasure from the hilarity of tautology.

No doubt, this entry will go without fanfare, quite unlike most commemorations should. Any good commemoration should be a party, complete with streamers, balloons, confetti, and those little party hats that invariably make any and all who wear it look like utter fools. But for the sake of partying - hey, why the heck not?

No, this humble journal entry will be reserved for the fanciest nonsense you may ever have read. (:D)

My efforts have recently been taken with trying to convince my sister to join DeviantArt and post her work here, yet to no avail. Which is silly, of course, because she's very good. I'd be greatly appreciative if you could tell her that yourself.

I'm also currently in the process of designing and patterning my cosplay for the local anime convention, as well as that which I may be attending in Los Angeles next summer. It's only now that I realize the daunting task it is to put a piece together - deciding which character (check), which fabric (check), which patterns (not check), which accessories (not check), etc. It's all been fun though, which is really what cosplaying is all about. :) Since this is my first sewing job, I'm hoping I don't royally mess up my costume or anything, although I know there will inevitably be some technical mishap or another. But again, I suppose it's all part of learning and enjoying the experience!

I just got news that I should be seeing some of my cousins very soon, which is such marvelous news! Truly the highlight of my day. :)

In any case, I suppose it's about time I wrapped this journal entry up, huh?

Much love,
Cherry

haven't seen you in class in a while
are you feeling okay?

Ahaha thanks! I really have to learn basic art, not just manga. I've been researching a lot on manga. Theres a lot of steps you have to do. So far you need a name and manuscript. Its kinda complicated. One of the biggest challenge is, getting assigned with an editor. Depending how good the name is. I've written lots of names now. I just have to focus on the drawing part now.
I'm gonna try drawing different. Thank you so much for the tips! Its really important to me! For my age, I'm really behind on my career. I've read that a 15 year old kid getting serialized already..oh man...

Kid: Hey dad! how do I spell orange?
Dad: It depends, if its the color or the fruit..
:icondjericho888:
ohh btw. I've been trying to get a profile icon but it seems like nothing works. I've tried making it 50x38 pixels 15kb and deviant wouldn't accept any. Any ideas how to get an icon easy way? LOL ahhaha

I had trouble too! You've got to make it exactly 50x50 pixels, or else it'll reject your entry. ;)

Thanks for the comment!
Hopefully I can one day get serialized in Japan @_@ thats my super dreammm!

Never, ever stop dreaming. :) Go take arts extracurriculars and study classical art first, then continue doing manga in your spare time like you've been doing. Follow your dream cousin - go to arts school for college, you've got the talent for it like nobody else I've met. And I've met a lot of people - people who have ended up going to arts schools for college.
Remember - before Picasso learned to paint, he first had to learn how to draw a straight line.
This is going to be one of the first times I've ever been serious with you mate - go take arts classes, go draw from real life at a museum, sit outside and draw peoples' faces. You've got the talent. :) Go make your dreams reality.

Fwee, Canada is freaking awesome man! :) I have two great roommates, we get along really well. I was so nervous things were going to be tough considering you're randomly living with two people you don't know at all, but it really turned out for the better.

I wish you guys could come up to Canada, it's so amazing here! The people are so amazingly friendly and multicultural, and the city itself is architecturally breathtaking!

It's funny you should mention McGill being Canada's Harvard, I just bought a t-shirt that says "Harvard: America's McGill". Hahahaha!

Anywho, how's everything going in LA? Has school started yet?

YES!!! Can't wait for December!! ;)
:icondjericho888:
Thanks Rach! btw how come you never post anything new? Your good at drawing! You should post daily drawings! Can't wait too see you in December!
